Since buying my MS-LTD in Oct.00 and reading (MS Running Board) how many
people have been rear-ended from tailgaters, I asked my cousin if he would
make me a "mini-bumper" that I could attach into my hitch.
He DID it in a day! Very simple design and if anybody has a friend or
connection that does welding, they can whip one up and the cost of material
is very little. The main bar measures 30" across and is even with the
vehicle bumper.
You should see people BACK-OFF now when they see this 'thing' poking out at
them from my hitch. I would have very little damage to my rig but 'they'
would have extensive damage and learn a valuable lesson to "maintain
distance when following another vehicle".
